Assume that f(3) = 4.  Name a point that must be on the graph of y = f(x + 4).

If f(3) = 4, f(-1+4) = 4 since -1+4 = 3. 

So one point must be (-1, 3)

the +4   shifts the graph to the LEFT by 4 units

so    -1, 4    should be on the new graph

Oops, I wrote 3 instead of 4. 

I remember being so confused in 6th grade about why the +4 turned the graph left instead of right.
