what is the answer to this question use the system of equations x+y=7 x-y=5

x + y = 7

x - y = 5        let's just add these together, we have...

2x = 12    divide by 2 on both sides

x = 6        and putting this back into either equation - I'll use the first one - we can find y 

6 + y = 7     and it's obvious that y = 1   ...so  ....  our solution is   (6, 1)
