So substitute ' -2 ' for 'y'

3x - 4 (-2) = 5/3

3x + 8 = 5/3

3x = -8 + 5/3 = -24/3 + 5/3 = -19/3

x = -19/3 (1/3) = -19/9 = - 2 1/9
