a room with a floor covering 6meters sq is covered in 384 tiles. what is the length of each side of the tiles

do 6 divided by 384 then find the square root of that number

6 Square meters=60,000 square cm.

60,000/384=156.25 square cm-being the area of each tile. We are assuming that the tiles are perfectly square. If that's the case, then the sides of each tile are:

sqrt(156.25)=12.5 cm. the side of each tile.

I'm making a slightly different assumption here that the room is 6m on each side

 

Then 6m = 600 cm      and the area is (600cm)^2 = 360,000cm^2

 

And each tile [assuming that they are uniform] occupies   (1/384)th of this area = 937.5cm^2

 

So the side of each tile = sqrt(937.5cm^2) = about 30.619cm
