Hello my dudes. I need help on solving equations. Here is the question. -x - 177 = 3x + 79

So algebra!

 

First, get the variable (x) on one side of the =

 

-177=4x+79 (i added the x)

 

Now get x alone!

 

-177-79=4x+79-79 (subtract the 79)

 

that gets -256=4x

 

divide by 4 

 

-64=x
