y  =  kwx        and we need to find "k" thusly :

And we know that

540  = k (15) (30) / 5   simplify

540  =  450/ 5  * k

540  =  90 k     divide both sides by  90

6 = k

So...the relationship is

y  = 6 wx

Easy to solve, NSS    !!!                           

30 * 44   =  55 * C      where C is the cost per  person

1320  =  55 * C      divide both sides by 55

$24  =  C

This makes sense....it should cost less per person if more people go on the trip !!!
