The area of the "large" rectangle is given by

(2 + 3 + 2 + 3) * (6)  =

(5 + 5 ) * (6)  =

(10) * (6)  = 60 cm ^2

And the area of the two small squares is (2 * 2)  = 4 cm^2

So....the total area is  (60 + 4) in^2   = 64 cm^2
