How do I solve the equation then

When x = 0     y = 6

          y=0        x = 6

           x =12    y = 6

           x=-6      y=12

graph and connect those points....

It will be a  ' V'   shaped graph

The V shape comes from every possible "y" being positive, as an uninfluenced absolute value can never end up being negative.

Note, nicolas.......this is the "parent" absolute value graph  y =   l x  l    shifted to the right by 6 units

In the form    y = l x - h l   the "vertex"  of the parent  graph   - at (0,0) -  is shited h units to the right...so the new "vertex" becomes (h,0)

If we had   y  =l x + h l    the "vertex"  of the graph would be shifted to the left   by h  units.....so the new "vertex"  = (-h, 0)

Here's a graph of all three : https://www.desmos.com/calculator/nv2qmv6yli
