The parent function is f(x)=2x+3−3 and the new function is g(x)=2x+2−1.

How does the graph change from

f(x)  to

g(x)?

First change f(x) to y

$y=2x$

this is changed to

$y=2x+1$

however inside of the answers  I don't see 1 unit shifted up

Did you perhaps leave off some parentheses in your question?

    .....because   2x+3-3 = 2x        2x+2-1 = 2x+1 

 

    all this does is shift the funtion graph UP by one
