A, B, and C are collinear, and B is between A and C. The ratio of AB to AC is 1:3.

If A is at (2,-6) and BBB is at (3,-1), what are the coordinates of point CCC?

There are 4 equal parts to AC   and BC is  3 of them

The coordinates of C are given by

[ (2 + 3(3- 2) , -6 + 3(-1 - (-6) ) ]  =   [ 2 + 3(1) , -6 + 3(5) ]  = [ 2 + 3, -6 + 15 ]  = (5, 9)
