Suppose x is directly proportional to y, but inversely proportional to z. If x=3 when y=6 and z=4, then what is z when y=3?

If  x  is directly proportion to  y  but inversely proportional to  z, then the formula is:  x  =  k · y / z.

Since  x = 3  when  y = 6  and  z = 4:     3  =  k · 6 / 4     --->     12  =  k · 6     --->   k  =  2.

So, the formula is:   x  =  2 · y / z.

What is  z  when  y = 3?

To figure this out, you'll need to know the value of x ...
