The ninth and tenth terms of an arithmetic sequence are \(\frac14\) and \(\frac13\) , respectively. What is the second term?

Let me take a wack at this problem.

The difference between 1/4 and 1/3 is 1/12, so the sequence is increasing by 1/12 every time. Since 1/4 is the 9th term, we need to subtract 1/12, 7 times. So, 1/4 - 7/12 = -1/3
