I tried two of them but I don't think they are right. The other ones, I'm confused on how to answer them. Please help explain! Thank you.

The object is to get x by itself..then ......"swap" x and y  .

y = 3x + 2     subtract 2 from both sides

y - 2  = 3x       divide both sides by 3

[ y - 2 ] / 3  =  x       "swap" x and y

[ x - 2 ] / 3  =  y        so.....the inverse is in red....your answer is correct  !!!

y = (2/3)x - 5

y + 5 =  (2/3)x      mltiply both sides by (3/2)

(3/2y + 15/2 =  x

(3/2)x + 15/2  =  y        the inverse is in red

y = x^2 + 8   your answer is good  !!!!

y = ( x + 3)^2       tke both roots

±√y   = x + 3

±√y -  3   =  x

±√x   -  3   =  y           the inverse is in red

y = √ [ 2x - 3 ]       square both sides

y^2 = 2x - 3

y^2 + 3  =  2x

[ y^2 + 3 ] / 2  =    x

[ x^2 + 3 ] / 2  =  y             the inverse is in red

y = √[4x] - 7

y + 7 =  √[4x]             square both sides

(y + 7)^2 =  4x       divide both sides by 4

(y + 7)^2 / 4  =  x

(x + 7)^2 / 4  =   y       the inverse is in red

cool cool cool
