$${\mathtt{x}}{\mathtt{\,-\,}}{\mathtt{y}} = {\mathtt{46}}$$

$${\frac{{\mathtt{x}}}{{\mathtt{y}}}} = {\mathtt{4}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\mathtt{7}}$$

It is sooo complicated!

What is X?

Whay is Y?

x - y = 46

x / y  = 4 + 7  →   x / y  = 11 ......   multiply both sides by 11  →   x = 11y

So....substituting for "x" in the first eqaution, we have

(11y) - y  = 46

10y = 46     divide boh sides by 10

y  = 46/10  = 4.6

And x =  11(4.6) = 50.6

So  x = 50.6   and y = 4.6
