The line that cuts line L at a 45o angle also makes a 45o angle with K in the little triangle.
In that little triangle, one angle is 90o. The sum of all angles of a triangle is 180o.
The angle in the triangle opposite x equals 180o – (90o + 45o) = 45o therefore x = 45o
