Two lines, A and B, are represented by the equations given below:

Line A: x + y = 6
Line B: x + y = 4

Which statement is true about the solution to the set of equations?

No solution

Two lines, A and B, are represented by the equations given below:

Line A: x + y = 6

Line B: x + y = 4

Solve for x  and y

Multiply Line A equation by -1

-x -y = -6

x + y = 4

-------------------(add both equations)

0 + 0  = -2

0=-2

We arrived at a false statement, so no solution for this system of equations

An  even simpler solution

If  x  +  y  =  6

Then x + y   cannot  also  = 4

So......these  lines  do not intersect....so....no solution

cool cool cool
