How does this equal 3? (sqrt(12 -sqrt(3 )^2

Im unsure on how to do square root i have a math exam soon and other websites dont explain it well.

(sqrt(12 -sqrt(3 )^2

 

Your brackets are unbalanced there are 3 ( and only one )     sad

 

Maybe this is what you mean???

 

(sqrt(12) -sqrt(3 ))^2

 

\((\sqrt{12} -\sqrt3 )^2\\ =(\sqrt{4*3} -\sqrt3 )^2\\ =(\sqrt{4}*\sqrt{3} -\sqrt3 )^2\\ =(2\sqrt{3} -\sqrt3 )^2\\ =(\sqrt3 )^2\\ =\sqrt3*\sqrt3\\ =3\)
