From the point on the graph,  1 meter costs 8 dollars (I think that is a dollar sign.....knd of fuzzy)

I THINK the bottom scale is 'meters'....could be 'yards'   but the answer is same    unit cost is $8 for one meter (or yard)

yep.  $8/m   8 dollars per meter        or    $8/yd    eight dollars per yard. (can't read the bottom scale unit)
