The quadratic $2x^2-3x+27$ has two imaginary roots. What is the sum of the squares of these roots? Express your answer as a decimal rounded to the nearest hundredth.

Use Quadratic Formula :

 

\(x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac} \over 2a}\)           a = 2     b = -3    c = 27

 

This will give you the two roots....then you can add them....  I'll tell you the imaginary parts :   +-   3/4 * i sqrt (23)
