are you supposed to solve for x? if yes, here's the answer and working out:

14-(x-5)=3(x+9)-10

14-x-5=3x+27-10

 9-x=3x+17                  (+x)

9=4x+17                       (-17)

-8=4x                            (/4)

-2=x
