Hi this is obviously a web site for super smart people, but I really need help.
if I have x^2 + x^2 does that make the answer x^4 or just 2x^2
I know that this is a stupid question don't look at me

2x^2. Meaning, 2 times x^2

What I said already, but also: it's really more like x squared times 2, because of order of operations. That means, if you do it for x=3:


2(3^2)
2(6)
12

Instead of:

(2*3)^2
(6)^2
36
