Enrollment at Roosevelt went from 560 to 590. What is the percent change?

percent change is givern by 100*(final value - initial value)/initial value, so: 100*(590 - 560)/560 You can crunch the numbers.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The answer I got was 5.35714285714. So would it be 5.35 or 5.357??

To three decimal places it is 5.357%

However, to two decimal places it is 5.36%, because the third digit is greater than 5, so you round up the second digit.

(Don't forget to put the percent sign).

NB: It would have been better to add your response to the same thread as your original question (which could have been done by selecting Post answer there).

Yes.  It depends on how many decimal places you have been asked to provide.  5.357% is very slightly more accurate.
