re-write the following in simplest radical form: square root of -75 My Answer: 10 square root -3 :) Correct? I hope so!
When you take the sqrt of a negative ineger, you are actually taking its "complex root", which in the case of -75=5i sqrt(3). Have you heard of sqrt of -1? This is where it comes from.
i = sqrt(-1)
sqrt(-75) = sqrt(25 x 3 x (-1)) = 5 i sqrt(3)
opssie! my mistake! thanks!
