Compute the range of the function $f(x) = \sqrt{x^2}$.

We can only  get  a 0   or   a positive from  a positive  square root

 

And  note  that  sqrt (x^2)  is defined as    absolute  value  (x)

 

So....the range  is   [ 0 , infinity )
