x+y=8 x-y=2
x+y=8
x-y= 2 just add the two equations and we get that
2x = 10 divide both sidesd by 2
x = 5
Put the value back into either equation to find y
5 + y = 8 and it's obvious that y = 3
So.....the soution is (x, y) = ( 5, 3)
