if you're looking for a base solution, the answer is x is greater than -3

however, if you're looking for the interval notation it's (-3,infinity)

Solve: 4(x - 4) < -7(1 - x)

4x - 16 < -7 + 7x add 7 to both sides

4x - 9 < 7x  subtract 4x from both sides

-9 < 3x divide both sides by 3 and reverse the inequality

x > -3
