Compute the point-slope form equation of the line through (-8,-1) and (-6,5).

Omi gave you the slope , m  ....

    point slope form equation of the line would be

pick one of the points   (x1 y1)

  (y-y1)  = m (x-x1)

(y-5) = 3 (x-(-6))

(y-5) = 3(x+6)

You could use the other point instead

(y-(-1)) = 3 (x-(-8)

(y+1)    = 3 (x+8)           If you graph both of these, you will se they are the same line....
