Start with the Distributive property: (-4*6)+(-4*-3x) So now we have x-24+12x=-11.

Then Combine Like Terms We have the like terms of x and 12x, so combine those to make 13x. Now you have 13x-24=-11

To get rid of the -24, add 24 to both sides. You are now left with 13x=13.

Divide both sides by 13 to end up with the answer of x=1.
