Hi peeps,

Which equations represent exponential growth?

Which equations represent exponential decay?

Basically just say which equations out of these options are showing exponential growth, and which ones are showing exponential decay.

options:

A=20,000(1.08)t

A=80(1/2)t

A=1600(0.8)t

A=40(3)t

P=1700(1.07)t

P=1700(0.93)t

Please and thank you! 0^>

20000(1.08^t) = growth

1700(.93^t) = decay

If the object of the exponent > 1  it is growth

if object of the exponent is a fraction between 0 and 1   it is  decay

Does that help?

Yes it helps me very much, thank you! I was finally able to complete and solve the question. For example, A= 40(3)^t is growth! Thank you very much!
