Point q lies on line ST where point S is located at (-2,-6) and point T is located (5,8). If SQ:QT=5:2, where is point Q on ST?

SQ : QT  =  5 : 2

x coordinate of Q   =   -2 + (5/7)(5 - -2)   =   -2 + (5/7)(7)   =   -2 + 5   =   3

y coordinate of Q   =   -6 + (5/7)(8 - -6)   =   -6 + (5/7)(14)  =  -6 + 10  =  4

point Q is located at  (3, 4)
