So...

 

Substitute a= 6, b= 4, and c= 8 into the formula c^2=a^2+b^2.

 

c^2= 64, a^2+b^2= 52

 

Since c^2 is greater than a^2+b^2,

the triangle is a right triangle.

If  c^2   >  a^2  +  b^2     this  is NOT  a  right  triangle   (it  is  an obtuse triangle )
