Hi, but the question says...

2 1/4

= 2*4+1 / 4

= 9/4

But you wrote 9/2???

2 1/4  = 9/4

Use dist. property to get

9/4 * 10 = 90/4

90/4 = 22 1/2

We can factor out one of the terms, 2 1/4.

When we factor it out we get...

2 1/4(4+3+2+1)

Adding these together we get

2 1/4(10)

This is equal to

22 1/2
