(1)     ( 4√3, - 4)   =   ( √48, - 4  )

 

r  =   √  [  (√48)^2  +(-4) ]  =   √[48 + 16]   =  √64  =   8

 

 θ =  arctan  ( -4/ 4√3 )    =  arctan  ( -1/ √3)  =   - pi/6  =  11pi/6

 

So

(r,  θ)   =  ( 4, 11pi/6)
