a cube and a cylinder have the same surface aera. If the cube has an edge of 6 cm and the cylinder a radius of 2 cm, calculate
a) the surface area of the cube             (216 cm^2)
b) the height of the cylinder ????????

i know the surface area of the cube but how do I get the height of the cylinder?

Remember the formula for surface area of cone: it's \(a=\pi r\left(r+\sqrt{h^2+r^2}\right)\)

You have the surface area of the cone, and the radius of the cone. Just substitute both and solve for the height.

I've read the question twice, but I couldn't find the word cone. laugh

Cylinder height    h = [216 - 2(r2pi)] / 2r*pi

                            h = 15.18873386 cm
