hey guys. is (x+y)^2 the same as x^2 + y^2? thanks!
If this is true.....we should be able to plug in values for x, y and see if we get the same result
Let x = 2 Let y = 3
(2 + 3)^2 = (2)^2 + (3)^2 ???
(5)^2 = 4 + 9 ???
25 = 13
So....not true
(x+y)2 = (x+y)(x+y) = x^2 + xy + xy + y^2 = x^2 + 2xy + y^2
