When the expression 3x^2-24x+55 written in the form a(x+d)^2+e, where a, d, and e are constants, then what is the sum a+d+e?

3x^2 -24x + 55       complete the square

3 (x^2 - 8x   +  55/3)

3(x^2  - 8x  +  16  +  55/3  - 16)

3 [  (x -4)^2   + 55/3  - 48/3 ]

3[ (x - 4 )^2  +  7/3)

3(x - 4)^2  +  7

So

a =  3

d  = -4

e  = 7

And their sum  =  6
