A store keeps about 240 boxes of crayons in its inventory.

 

 

A; if each box mesures 6in by 2.5in by 4in . how many cubic inches of storage space does the store need for the crayons?

 

 

B; one cubic foot is equal to (12in) cubed or 1782in cubed find the # of cubic feet necessary for storing 240 boxes of crayons?

A) Each box   occupies   6 * 2.5 * 4  =  60 in^3  of space

 

So

 

240 of them occupies ......240 * 60  = 14,400 in^3  of space

 

B)   The  number  of cubic feet  needed  =  14,400/ 1728  = about 25/3  = 8.33 ft^3
