If the area of a floor is 84 sqft, what are all of the possible side lengths?

Then see above.... any number in between 0 and 84 (excluding 0 and 84)

0 < a < 84   and    $${\mathtt{b}} = {\frac{{\mathtt{84}}}{{\mathtt{a}}}}$$

Many many many . . . infinitive.

$${\mathtt{a}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\mathtt{b}} = {\mathtt{84}}\left[{{ft}}^{{\mathtt{2}}}\right]$$

a=1, b=84
a=2, b=42
a=3, b=28
a=4, b=21
etc.

but also

a=1.25, b=67.2 is correct

and so on
