A craftsman wants to build this fiddle. He needs to know the area of the face of the fiddle. How could he use the measurements shown to find the​ area?

Draw another white line on the left, symmetrical with the first 334 line, and you'll see a rectangle with a triangle on the left and a triangle on the right.  It should be easy to figure up the areas of those three shapes and add them together.

I think you can find the area of a trapezoid:

 

A=(a+b) / 2h

   =(224 + 77) / 2 * 334

   =50,267 mm^2 - the area of the face of the fiddle.
