The number of TERMS in the ARITHMETIC series:

 

(2008 -3)/5   + 1 = 402

Last term  = First term - 5( N - 1)          where N is the number of terms

 

3 = 2008 - 5(N - 1)         subtract 2008 from both sides

 

-2005 = -5N + 5           subtract 5 from both sides

 

-2010 = - 5N             divide both sides by - 5
