Using Angle Bisector Theorem, we have 10.5 / y = 16.5 / x (EQ 1)

We also have that x+y=9.  (EQ 2)

cross multiplying EQ 1, we have 10.5x=16.5y

x2 to both sides: 21x=33y

dividing by 3: 7x=11y

x = 11/7 * y (EQ 3)

EQ 2 and EQ 3: 11y/7 + y = 9

11y/7 + 7y/7 = 9

(18y)/7 = 9

Divide both side by 9: 2y/7 = 1

Multiply both side by 7: 2y=7

Divide both side by 2: y=3.5 (EQ 4)

Substitute EQ 4 into EQ 2: 3.5+x=9

x=9-3.5

x=5.5

x=5.5, y=3.5
