y changes  by  1.5   when  x changes  by   3

So....the  slope of  this linear  finction is     1.5   / 3   =  1/2

Since   (2,6)  is on the  graph   we  have  this linear equation 

y= (1/2) (x - 2 )  +  6      simplify

y=  (1/2)x  - 1  +  6

y = (1/2) (x)  +  5

When y  = 0   we  have  that

0  = (1/2)x  + 5

-5  = (1/2)x

x = -5 / (1/2)  =  -5 * 2/1  =   -10      when y  =  0
