Remember Vieta's formulas?

rs  =  -12/3 = -4

r+s = -4/3

Now, do this:

(r+s)2 = r2 + s2 + 2rs      sub in the reds above

(-4/3)2 =  r2 + s2  + 2 ( -4)

r2 + s= (-4/3)+ 8                   <====== you can finish, yah ?
