1. A rectangular prism has a total surface area of \(48.\) Also, the sum of all the edges of the prism is \(40\). Find the length of the diagonal joining one corner of the prism to the opposite corner.

Try these for the edges:  4 - 2sqrt(2),  4 + 2sqrt(2),  2.

Wait, so if those are the edges do I just use the Pythagorean Theorem to find the diagonal?

To find the diagonal of a prism, use the "Three dimensional Pythagorean Theorem":

 

Distance2  =  Length2 + Width2 + Height2
