Simplify the following:
(-4)/3^2-4 (1/6-1/2)

3^2 = 9:
(-4)/9-4 (1/6-1/2)

Put 1/6-1/2 over the common denominator 6. 1/6-1/2  =  1/6-(3)/6:
(-4)/9-4 1/6-(3)/6

1/6-(3)/6  =  (1-3)/6:
(-4)/9-4 (1-3)/6

1-3 = -2:
(-4)/9-4×-2/6

The gcd of -2 and 6 is 2, so (-2)/6 = (2 (-1))/(2×3) = 2/2×(-1)/3 = (-1)/3:
(-4)/9-4×(-1)/3

(-1)^2 = 1:
(-4)/9+4 1/3

Put (-4)/9+4/3 over the common denominator 9. (-4)/9+4/3  =  (-4)/9+(3×4)/9:
(-4)/9+(3×4)/9

3×4  =  12:
(-4)/9+12/9

(-4)/9+12/9  =  (-4+12)/9:
(-4+12)/9

-4+12 = 8:
