what is

$$\underset{\,\,\,\,{\textcolor[rgb]{0.66,0.66,0.66}{\rightarrow {\mathtt{x, y}}}}}{{solve}}{\left(\begin{array}{l}{\mathtt{x}}{\mathtt{\,-\,}}{\mathtt{y}}={\mathtt{6}}\\
{\mathtt{x}}{\mathtt{\,\small\textbf+\,}}{\mathtt{y}}=-{\mathtt{2}}\end{array}\right)}$$

solve for (x,y) sorry my brain crack. forget this. -Sp1ker7

Adding the equations, we have

2x = 4    so x = 2

And since x - y =  6  ... then, substituting in for x, we have

2 - y  = 6    rearrange  by adding y to both sides and subtracting 6 from both sides

2 - 6  = y

-4  = y

So  (x, y)  = (2, -4)
