Let the number of 3-point questions = Q

Then, the number of 4-point questions =29 - Q

 

3Q  +  4[29 - Q] = 100, solve for Q

3Q  +  116 - 4Q   = 100

-Q  = 100 - 116

 

Q = 16 - Number of 3-point questions

29 - 16 = 13 - Number of 4-point questions.
