The radius of circle is 11 miles. What is the area of a sector bounded by a 300° arc?
A complete circle is 360o we want the area of a 300/360 fraction of the complete circle
Area = pi r^2
= 300/360 * pi * 112 === ........... mi 2
Oh wow! Great work! Wow you also beat me to solving this! I'm not very sure about my answer...
Your answer is as good as mine !
Not sure about this, but first, find the area of the circle (121 pi). Then, because it is a 300 degree arc, the part you want to find is 5/6 of the circle. This would then be (121 pi)(5/6), which would be easy to solve.
