No initial velocity. Accelerating at a constant rate of 6.9m/s2. How far will it travel in 1 second?

d=1/2at^2

I got a = 13.8m/s2

If this is not correct. would you please show me the correct way of doing it?

Alan has used the formula

s=ut+(1/2)at^2

when you said NO initial velocity we both assumed you meant initial velocity =0

a = 6.9m/s2,  t = 1s  so  d = (1/2)*6.9m/s2*1s2 = 3.45m

.
