x^2 - |4x - 2| + 5 = 0

x^2 - |4x - 2| = -5 

 

Break it down into equations

 

x^2 - ( 4x - 2 ) = -5  ------> apply quadratic formula; x = 2 + sqrt(3)*i, x  = 2 - sqrt(3)*i

x^2 - ( - ( 4x - 2 ) = -5 ----> apply quadratic formula; x = - 2 + sqrt(3)*i, x = -2 - sqrt(3)*i
